Journey through the Bible

As most of you know, I am making my way through the bible. I have read through the New Testament already this year and I am now working on the Old Testament. This is actually my first journey through the bible. Some people have found that hard to believe being I grew up in church and all. I liked reading in my bible, but could always find better things to read. I would read a verse here and there... maybe even a chapter in Proverbs... but never the whole New and Old Testament!

I have found that the New Testament was a LOT easier for me to read and relate to than the old testament has been so far. However, God really spoke to me when I was reading about Moses and the Pharoh and God freeing the Israelites from the Egytians. I actually read this a week, maybe even two (I'm in Leviticus now) ago. But lucky for me and you, I have gotten into a habit of keeping a notepad and pen with me while I'm reading... just for these types of moments...

I titled it: " What I learned from Moses & the plagues of Egypt" (not to creative I know)

1.) Stubborness is not good, for yourself or the people around you it can cause lots of damage
2.) Even if the door is slammed in your face...multiple times... trust God, he has something up His sleeve!
3.) Don't compromise on something God has instructed you to do (Ex. 8:25-29)
4.) The Hebrews, by sacrificing the innocent lamb, redeemed their first born. Just like Jesus redeems us!! (I think this is called foreshadowing, and if I'm right there is a proud english teacher out there somewhere)

I'm sure there was more I could have gotten out of this set of scriptures/story. And I probably did subconciously, however, these are some of the things God wanted to show me now!

I hope everyone has a blessed week!
